Privacy policy
Plain-language first: we collect only what a repair, purchase or enquiry needs, we don’t sell your data, and your device’s contents are your business, not ours.
Last updated: August 2026 · Applies to Hash Digi Point, Lucknow & Varanasi, and to hashdigipoint.com.
1. Information we collect
- Contact details — name, phone number, email — when you enquire, book a repair, or buy from us.
- Device details — brand, model, IMEI, reported fault and physical condition — recorded on your job sheet.
- Transaction details — bills, payment records and warranty cards, as required for GST and accounting.
- Identity proof — for used-device buy-back and exchange only, as a safeguard against stolen-device trade.
- Website data — the enquiry form collects only what you type into it. See "Cookies" below.
2. Why we collect it
To diagnose and repair your device, to contact you about your job, to issue bills and warranty cards, to meet legal and tax obligations, and to protect both parties in used-device transactions. We do not sell or rent personal data to anyone.
3. Your device's data during repair
Repairs are performed on hardware, not your personal content. However, no repair process can guarantee data preservation — some faults and some repairs (especially board-level work or software service) can result in data loss or require a factory reset. Backing up before submitting a device is your responsibility; we will tell you before any step we know will erase data. Please remove SIM and memory cards, or ask us to seal them with your job sheet.
4. Buy-back and used-device transactions
When you sell or exchange a device, we record your identity proof and the device IMEI, and may verify the device against available databases. Sellers are responsible for the truthfulness of ownership claims; we cooperate with lawful investigations concerning devices later found to be reported lost or stolen.
5. Storage and protection
Records are kept with reasonable physical and technical safeguards, and access is limited to staff who need them for their work. No system is perfectly secure, but we take that responsibility seriously and retain records only as long as business and legal obligations require.
6. Cookies and analytics
This website works without tracking cookies. If analytics are enabled (e.g., Google Analytics), they are used to understand aggregate site usage, not to identify you. Embedded maps are served by Google and are subject to Google's own policies.
7. Legal disclosure
We disclose personal information only when required by law, court order, or lawful requests by authorities — and only to the extent required.
8. Your rights (DPDP Act, 2023)
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, subject to records we must retain by law (such as tax invoices). Write to hashdigipointvns@gmail.com or speak to either branch; we respond within a reasonable time.
9. Accessibility commitment
We aim to keep this website usable by everyone, following WCAG 2.2 AA practices: keyboard navigability, visible focus, sufficient contrast, meaningful alternative text and reduced-motion support. If anything on this site is hard for you to use, please tell us at hashdigipointvns@gmail.com — we treat accessibility issues as defects to fix, not feedback to file.
10. Changes and contact
We may update this policy as our services or the law change; the "last updated" date above reflects the current version. Questions: hashdigipointvns@gmail.com, or either branch in person.
